About Art Up!

The evolution of the Coronavirus epidemic leads us to postpone Art Up! which will take place from June 25 to 28, 2020. In connection with the services of the Prefecture, the City of Lille, we have taken the decision, as an organizer, to postpone Art Up! from 25 to 28 June 2020. Indeed, with more than 40,000 visitors welcomed in previous editions, days often exceeding 5,000 participants and gallery owners from all over France and Europe, we are unable to meet current guidelines established by the Ministry of Health.

With over 110 French and international galleries, the Lille contemporary art fair has become a “must” event for its diversity and the quality of the offer presented.
Art Up! is a federative event attended by over 40,000 visitors, collectors, buyers and enlightened amateurs.
Art Up! is the main event of its kind in France outside Paris, and the third largest contemporary art fair in the country.
The Art Up! team consist of 10 people, dedicated to the satisfaction of customers, focusing on the marketing, communication and organization of the event, relying on the expertise of the 80 employees of Lille Grand Palais and its suppliers for the logistic and technical implementation of the fair. The Art Up! team takes great care organizing and setting up events to create an atmosphere in connection with its public: demanding, creative, innovative and welcoming!
Didier Vesse is supervising art direction of Art Up! since 2010.
Galleries and editors, join us on the 13th edition of Art Up from 5 to 8 of March !

After a 2019 edition focusing on the art of photography, the Art Up! team has selected a new theme for the forthcoming edition: “The thread of art: how textile art, once solely intertwined, has now become an art of the future ?”

By choosing this theme, Art Up! challenges the protagonists of the artistic world on their vision of thread’s integration in art, which succeeded in adapting and deploying itself using various mediums on the basis of textile work.

Many key moments punctuate this edition, particularly the exhibition « Revelation by Art Up! » which gives pride of place to young artists from region’s art schools. As well as the Art Night that gives artists the freedom to express themselves with many live performances.

Exhibitions, conferences and activities based on the theme will be proposed to the public throughout the entire event.
